FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno Pacific volleyball setter Mikayla Weiss was named the FloCollege/CCAA Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week, marking the first time the honor has been awarded back-to-back since 2023.

Weiss was instrumental in the 'Birds' perfect 4-0 weekend at the Denali Ice Block Classic, earning Tournament MVP honors after another standout performance directing the Fresno Pacific offense.

Across four matches, the graduate setter tallied an impressive 181 assists, 31 kills, 32 digs and at least one service ace in every match. She opened the tournament with a double-double against Minnesota State Mankato, recording 51 assists and 13 kills, before continuing her torrid stretch throughout the weekend. Weiss saved one of her biggest performances for the 'Birds' dramatic comeback against Alaska Anchorage. Facing an 0-2 deficit, Fresno Pacific rallied to complete the reverse sweep, with her setting a career-high 62 assists to help fuel the comeback. It was the most assists for a CCAA setter since 2019 and only the fifth time in history that a student-athlete has posted 60+ assists in the conference!

The following match against Alaska Fairbanks provided another milestone moment, as Weiss recorded the 2,000th assist of her career during the opening set. She finished the match with 32 assists, five kills and six digs as the 'Birds completed a three-set sweep. With Weiss orchestrating the offense, Fresno Pacific closed the tournament by winning six consecutive sets, overcoming Alaska Anchorage in a reverse sweep before sweeping tournament host, Alaska Fairbanks, to remain undefeated.

The unforgettable weekend allowed the 'Birds to break into the Top 5 national rankings, tying for fifth with Concordia St. Paul. This marks the highest national ranking for FPU in the Division II era, surpassing their No. 8 ranking from the season prior. Fresno Pacific has an overall record of 7-0 and are among four CCAA schools in the Top 25.
