PacWest annoucnes the addition of STUNT

PacWest Conference Adds STUNT in 2026/27; FPU to Remain Affiliate Member

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Pacific West Conference announced today that it will begin sponsoring STUNT in the 2026-27 season.

"Following an extensive and thoughtful evaluation process the PacWest Conference is proud to announce it will sponsor the sport of STUNT beginning the 2026-2027 season," said PacWest Commissioner Brad Jones. "Its addition reflects both the PacWest and the NCAA's continued growth, as the sport's rapid national expansion demonstrates strong demand and momentum."

Fresno Pacific will remain as affiliate members of the PacWest conference for STUNT.  PacWest members Concordia University Irvine, Hawai'i Pacific, Jessup, and Vanguard have established STUNT programs that will now  compete within the conference along with Westmont, who recently announced the addition of STUNT.  Additional members to compete solely in STUNT are expected to join.  

"With several member institutions already sponsoring STUNT and others exploring the opportunity, it is a natural fit for our conference," Jones added. "We are confident STUNT will strengthen our championship offerings and create exciting new opportunities for our student-athletes and institutions."

The Sunbirds are currently in the midst of their first season of competition, having played in six total games thus far with a record of 3-3 and a #16 NCAA Division II national ranking. For their inaugural season, they are competing in what is known as the West Conference, which is comprised of the Sunbirds, plus the four current PacWest STUNT schools along with GNAC stalwart Northwest Nazarene University.

"PacWest adding STUNT feels like the start of a real legacy," said FPU STUNT head coach Alyssa Troutt. " I've watched this sport grow from the ground up, and to see it gain traction at the collegiate level is special. It creates more doors for young women to compete, earn opportunities, and be part of something meaningful. I'm grateful to be part of where it's heading."
