AZUSA, Calif.- The No. 29-ranked Fresno Pacific Sunbirds were stopped in their tracks Wednesday afternoon as they fell 0–7 to No. 6-ranked Azusa Pacific in a highly anticipated PacWest showdown at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex.
In the doubles, the Cougars flexed their top-tier talent across the board, sweeping all three matches to claim the opening point and then dominating singles play with six straight-set wins.
Despite the scoreline, Fresno Pacific showed flashes of grit and intensity, pushing several singles sets deep and fighting for every point. Still, Azusa Pacific's depth and experience ultimately proved too much.
