ORLANDO, Florida- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds couldn't pull out the win in a tight 4-3 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic at the Sanlando Park Tennis Complex on Thursday morning.
The 'Birds caught the Sailfish early to secure the doubles point with wins on court two and three.
Brodie Sodersten and
Emilio Seelbach gritted it out of on court two, winning 6-4. On court three, the duo of
Cedric Kaufman and
Ravi Nelson got a 6-4 win of their own to clinch the point for the Sunbirds.
Fresno Pacific and Palm Beach Atlantic went back and forth in singles matchplay. Nelson continued his momentum from the doubles gritting out a win in a third set tie breaker after winning the first 7-5, dropping the second 6-4, only to come back in a third set tiebreaker 10-5 . On court six,
Ben Cronau secured a combeack win of his own in a third set tie breaker after falling in the first 6-2, rallying to win in the second 6-4, and proving victorious in the third set tiebreaker 10-7. However, the Sunbirds could not hang on to the lead as the Sailfish came back to steal the victory 4-3 with wins on courts two, three, four, and five.

The Sunbirds will hop back into PacWest play as they host the Point Loma Sea Lions Tuesday, March 11th at 10am at the Haak Tennis Complex.
