SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Despite the combined efforts of
Forrest Gray,
Tristin Fox, and
Joey Brocar, the Sunbird men closed out the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament with a loss to University of the Pacific on Sunday morning.
Pacific dominated the first period, scoring two early goals at 6:50 and 5:02 to establish a commanding lead. The Sunbirds slowed down the Tiger's momentum, but a few goals contributed to the 6-0 deficit at the end of the period.Â

Forrest Gray broke through in the second period, but Pacific quickly responded with goals of their own, extending their lead to 8-1. In the third period, Pacific continued to pressure the 'Birds, widening the gap to 12-1. Pacific's early fourth-period goal was countered by
Joey Brocar and
Tristin Fox, but Pacific sealed the 16-3 victory with a final strike in the last minute.
Gray contributed significantly with four steals and added a goal on six attempts. Brocar provided offensive support by scoring once and assisting on another goal, taking four shots in total. Fox also made an impact, scoring one goal and recording two steals, while drawing one exclusion. In goal, goalkeeper
Chase Hammes made four saves, helping to anchor the defensive effort.
The men's water polo team is 3-16 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
