FRESNO, Calif. - ABC30 Sports Reporter Sydney Berger was on campus last week to catch up with coaches and student-athletes of the FPU Volleyball team, who are in the midst of an unprecedented 17-0 start to the 2025 season.  The story would feature in "Good Sports", a weekly segment sharing unique sports stories about Central Valley student-athletes.

As the 'Birds returned from a grueling, nine-day stretch that included six matches, Berger spoke with freshman outside hitter Madelyn Feramisco, graduate setter Mikayla Weiss, and head coach Kelsee Montagna - all three Valley natives and proud representatives of FPU Athetics - as they prepared for their next SoCal roadtrip.  Also captured was the team's live reaction to the latest AVCA Coaches Poll results, which had the Sunbirds slotted in as the 19th ranked team in the country.  Today's latest poll should see the Sunbirds continue to climb the national rankings.

For a team with 10 Valley natives on the roster, Feramisco, Weiss, and Montagna discuss the chemistry, bond, and shared determination that has made this year's team so special and set up for the incredible success they've had on the court.
