FRESNO, Calif.- Despite an 11-0 run to start the game, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (7-18 overall, 5-13 PacWest) fell 72-49 to the PacWest leading Academy of Art Urban Knights (19-7 overall, 14-4 PacWest) Saturday evening at the Special Events Center.

The Sunbirds raced out with a Kyle Monk three-pointer capping the early lead after Harrison Pennisi scored a pair of baskets.

But ART U took a quick timeout and then responded with 12 straight points.

While the lead switched hands a couple of times, the Urban Knights straightened out the offense and built a 13 point lead at the half.

ART U hit five first half threes and then added five more in the second half to keep FPU at bay.

Pennisi, Monk and Isaac Peralta were all in double-figures for FPU in the loss.

The 'Birds will head out o the road to take on Westmont before returning Saturday for Senior Day against Azusa Pacific.
