RENO, Nevada-The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds Men's and Women's Track & Field teams literally leaped into the 2024 season with
Jackson Paramo and Lorraine Mankins competing at the UCS Pole Vault Summit inside the Reno Livestock Events Center.
Paramo's start to the season comes with a new PR as the sophomore posted a 14'9" in the first event of the season.
Mankins cleared 10-2 in her Sunbird debut and delivered great jumps at 10'8"...but without a clearance.
"I'm so grateful to have our vaulters back at the National Pole Vault Summit where they can be inspired and motivated by this very unique event," FPU head coach

Jackson Paramo and Lorraine Mankins both had very good days and Coach AJ Blackburn continues to be at the top of his craft."
The Sunbirds will take a slightly larger contingent to the UW Invitational at the end of the month before throwers open up at home on February 3
rd.
The majority of the team will open up at Westmont on February 10
th, competing in the Sunshine Open.
