TURLOCK, Calif.-A pair of straight set losses concluded the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (1-3 overall) time at the Stanislaus State Volleyball Tournament at the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena Saturday.
Fresno Pacific found more success as the match went on but the offense's efficiency declined throughout the three sets and the 'Birds were outhit in each of the three frames as Western Oregon won 25-19, 25-23, 26-24 in the afternoon contest.
Makena Ogas led the way with 10 kills but 28 total team errors cost the 'Birds.
Fresno Pacific wrapped up the tournament by taking on the hosts from Stanislaus State but were further frustrated as all three states ended 25-22 with the home team on top.
Corinne Acosta delivered a ten kill performance,
Mia Gilcrest added nine and Ogas chipped in with seven more.
The Sunbirds hit the road next weekend, traveling to Colorado for the
Double Tree by Hilton Maverick Fall Classic.
