ARCATA, Calif. – Early goals equated to a 3-0 loss for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (1-4 overall) as they fell to the undefeated Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks (4-0-1 overall) Thursday afternoon. 
 
The 'Jacks scored back-to-back goals in the 12^th and 15^th minute to take the early lead. 
 
Cal Poly Humboldt opened the half with another goal to add to their lead in the 46^th minute. 
 
A second yellow card for Alena Schenk in the 61^st minute meant the Sunbirds would have to play with 10 players the remainder of the match. 
 
Despite being down players, the Sunbirds held the 'Jacks scoreless for the remainder of the half. 
 
The player disadvantage limited FPU's offensive opportunities against the CCAA power as the Sunbirds were held to just five shots in the match.
 
Monique Nevarez ended the day with four saves on 14 total shots faced. 
 
The 'Birds will aim to bounce back as they finish their statewide road trip as they head to Hayward to play the Cal State East Bay Pioneers Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
