SURPRISE, Ariz.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (4-12 overall) were swept by the nationally ranked Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lions (17-2 overall) in the first round of the PacWest Tournament Thursday afternoon at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club.
 
The Sunbirds dropped the doubles point with losses on courts 1 and 3.
 
Ben Cronau and Sven Bangert were ahead 5-2 on court 2 when the Sea Lions clinched the point.
 
The Sea Lions continued that momentum over to singles play, winning in straight sets on courts 2, 3, and 1 to clinch the match.
 
The Sunbirds will wrap up the season Friday at 1pm against MSU Denver.
