CLAREMONT, Calif.- After beginning the day with an emphatic win, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds concluded their stay at the Claremont Convergence Tournament by delivering a ton of fight, knocking off Grove City 24-2 before falling to Division I Villanova Saturday night.
Sam Dieterle shined in the Birds' victory with five goals, finding the back of the net every time she took a shot.
Summer Fulton also had an impressive game, scoring four goals in the back half of the match.
The offense flowed freely for FPU as it scored the first 14 goals. WWPA Player of the Week

Natalie Noble adding two more.

Katie Whittingham added 10 saves to continue her excellent weekend in the cage.
Despite falling to Villanova 13-11, the Sunbirds hung tight with the Division I opponent. Fresno Pacific trailed closely the entire game, coming close to matching Nova's scoring with the game never getting more than four goals apart.
Alexandria Jasso scored three of her seven shots tying her for the game-high in goals.
The Sunbirds will return to play on March 11 to face off against rival Cal State Monterey Bay in the Otter Tank.
