OAKLAND, Calif. – Matt McGrady got the Fresno Pacific University baseball team on the board in the first inning against Academy of Art, but dormant offense doomed the Sunbirds, as they'd go scoreless for the remainder of the game, falling 5-2 to the Urban Knights on Friday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jared Aguilar reached on an error, while Andrew Valdez worked a walk with one out in the first inning. 
• McGrady's single into right field drove in Aguilar and A. Valdez, giving the Sunbirds a 2-0 lead before the Urban Knights swung their bats. 
• In the second inning, ARTU answered with four runs to take the lead. 
• The Urban Knights added one more run in the seventh to take a 5-2 lead. 
• The Birds started to rally in the eighth inning when Khalid Johnson reached on an error with one out in the inning. 
• Aguilar smashed a double down the left-field line, putting Johnson on third while Aguilar landed on second, as both runners went on to be stranded in scoring position.

 STATS FROM THE GAME

• Aguilar checked in as the only Sunbird with two hits in the game, going 2-for-4 with a double. 
• The Sunbirds left just five runners on base in the game. 
• Michael Barker twirled 1.1 innings in relief of Garrett Cooper.
