SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Fresno Pacific women's tennis team took on No. 4 seed Point Loma on Thursday in the PacWest Championships, defeating the Sea Lions 4-1 and earning a spot in the semifinals on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling in the No. 3 doubles match, Alice Di Matteo and Sanne Brull were able to match with a 6-1 win, leaving it to the No. 1 match to decide the doubles point.
- Maria Borodii and Lea Falentin were ablet to seal that match with a 6-3 win and put the Sunbirds up 1-0 after doubles.
- In singles, Di Matteo kept the hot hand, winning 6-4, 6-1 in straight sets to give FPU a 2-0 lead.
- Falentin wasn't too far behind, winning 6-3, 6-4 to put the Sunbirds one point away from a trip to Friday's semifinal.
- The Sea Lions were able to capture a point to make it 3-1, but for the second day in a row, Brull locked up with win for FPU with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the No. 5 match.
UP NEXT
The Blue and Orange will face off against top-seeded and the No. 13 ranked team in the nation Hawaii Pacific on Friday at 1 p.m. for a spot in Saturday's final.
