LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific tennis teams took on Metro State Denver at the Biola tennis courts on Wednesday, with the women winning 5-2 but the men falling short 6-1.

WOMEN'S MATCH
HOW IT HAPPENED.

• The Roadrunners were able to take the doubles point after winning the No. 1 and No. 3 matches 6-2, 6-2.
• FPU was able to get that point back after Sanne Brull took her No. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-2.
• Alice Di Matteo followed that up with a 6-4, 6-2 win in her No. 3 match, and Lea Falentin made it 3-1 Sunbirds with a 6-2, 7-5 win in the No. 2 match.
• Alice Marques added the match-winning point after winning the No. 5 match 6-4, 6-1, and Elise Leik put the nail in the coffin with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the No. 6 match.

 
MEN'S MATCH
HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSU Denver was able to take the doubles point, despite Pablo Zubieta and Moritz Schmitdt winning the No. 3 match 6-4.
• The Roadrunners were able to win the Nos. 1, 4 and 2 singles matches to earn the win.
• Joshua Wong put the Sunbirds on the board with a 4-6, 6-0, 10-6 win the No. 3 match, but MSU Denver added points in the No. 5 and 6 matches to finish with the 6-1 win.

The women's team will be on the road on Saturday when they take on Dominican at 1 p.m. The men's team is back in action on Tuesday when they host Bakersfield at 2 p.m.
