FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's basketball team competed in the PacWest Conference Tournament for the first time in program history, taking on Academy of Art in a quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Sunbirds battled the physicality brought by the Urban Knights and fell 63-57, bringing an end to their season.
QUOTABLE
"Credit to ARTU. They played an incredible physical style. I thought we were good on defense tonight, and they were even better than us on defense tonight. They disrupted what we wanted to do on offense. We got shots, and we didn't convert them. We have five seniors who are leaving us. This group is not defined by one outcome. The last several years, the accomplishments of that group have not gone unnoticed and our program will keep building because of the legacy they leave." head coach
C.J. Haydock.
