FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's tennis team traveled across town to take on NCAA DI member and neighbor Fresno State on Friday afternoon, as the Sunbirds played tough before falling 4-0.

"I'm extremely happy how the women played today against Fresno State," head coach George Rodriguez said. "If we compare scores from last year to today, it's night and day. We are much more competitive as a team and have improved tremendously in a year." 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Maria Borodii and Lea Falentin fought hard in doubles, falling 5-4 in the first set as the match eventually went unfinished as the Bulldogs claimed the point with victories on court three and then two. 
• Falentin battled in singles as well, winning the second set 5-3 before the match went unfinished. 
• Sanne Brull took the second set of her match 6-3, but it would also go unfinished. 
• Alica Di Matteo also put forward a solid effort, as her match didn't finish as the Bulldogs took it on courts four, one, and six.
