FRESNO, Calif. – Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Fresno Pacific University men's soccer team outshot Stanislaus State 13-4 in the second half but couldn't find the goals to force overtime as they fell 2-1.
QUOTABLE
" I didn't think we matched their energy in the beginning. We knew they were crafty and have some skill. We feel our type of play is midfield play, possession, moving the ball around rapidly. I thought tonight they did that better than us. They established the tempo at the beginning of the game, and we started chasing. We had some individual performances that were bright spots.
Marcus Silva, who had his first game as a Sunbird was a bright spot.
Angel Alvarado looked good. As a team, it didn't happen today, but we will regroup and move forward." – head coach
Jaime Ramirez said.
