FRESNO, Calif. – Anisa Rillo poured in 15 points for the Fresno Pacific University women's basketball team in their final exhibition of the season against UC Merced, as the Sunbirds handled the Bobcats 73-59.
QUOTABLE
"Tonight was a great night for us. It was fantastic to be back in the SEC and have our fans here supporting us. I think we will learn a lot from this game. Our defense is going to have to learn how to play at the level of intensity that we want without fouling. In the first half, we found a little too much and that kept them in the game. If we tighten up a bit with ball security and our fouling, there's a route for us to find a lot of success this year. UC Merced is as tough as they come for an NAIA opponent, and we knew we had to play well in the second half to have a chance to win. We are glad to get the win and are excited to learn from the film as we believe the best version of our team is within our control." – head coach Tim Beauregard.
