FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's water polo team squared off against #19 California Baptist on Thursday evening. The Lancers proved to be a tough test as they dropped the Sunbirds 22-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Thilo Popp scored the first goal of the game, giving the Sunbirds an early 1-0 lead.
- After the Lancers answered, Bodhi Bowden gave the Sunbirds a 2-1 lead two minutes into the first period.
- The Lancers found their rhythm and would go up 7-3 at the end of the first period.
- William Green found the back of the net in the second period, but the Birds trailed 12-4 at halftime.
- Green went on to score two goals in the second half.
- Eugenio Maldonado and Popp scored goals for FPU in the second half as well.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Green led the Sunbirds with three goals while adding an assist.
- Clay Maroney made five saves throughout the match.
