SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's soccer team traveled to Santa Cruz, Calif. to take on the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon. A clutch goal from Marley Edwards led to a game winner from Victor Rivas in double overtime as the Sunbirds took the match 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• (23:12) The Banana Slugs got on the board first when Kailas Dhond snuck one past the keeper off a pass from Max Beldner.
• (85:48) In the closing moments of the match, Edwards found the back of the net for the equalizer that forced overtime.  
• (104.22) Rivas cashed in on a pass from Fellipe Souza and converted for the game-winner.

STATS FROM THE GAME

• The Sunbirds controlled the pace of the game from the second half on, outshooting the Banana Slugs 11-7.
• Matteo Swenson made six saves for the Birds.
