  • Records: FPU (2-3, 2-0 PacWest), ART U (1-3, 1-3 PacWest)
  • Location: Special Events Center | Fresno, Calif.

QUOTABLE:

  • "We had a lot of dudes step up tonight. Jamal gave us a huge lift off the bench, Sean hit a big three, Spencer cooked for a little bit, Garrett had a great stretch and Kirby was massive in overtime. We needed all of our depth tonight, and I'm incredibly proud of our team's toughness. We dug in to make stops when we needed to. Our seniors have been waited four years for this season, and I'm blessed to lead and follow this group. We told them we've won the wait, but the hardest part is still ahead of us."

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The two teams went back and forth for the bulk of the first half, with FPU carrying a four-point lead into the break.
  • Josh Hill knocked down a three just before the first media timeout of the second half, and Garrett Cook responded with an impressive turnaround triple of his own to keep the game tied at 47.
  • With 4:56 to play, Nate Kendricks sunk a layup to give the Blue and Orange a seven-point edge, but Academy of Art followed with a 14-7 run to once again tie it up.
  • Neither team got a clean look on their final possession, forcing overtime at the Special Events Center.
  • Back-to-back three-balls from Coleman and Spencer Heimerdinger put FPU in front by five with 3:36 remaining, and A.J. Kirby sent the Sunbird bench into a frenzy with another trifecta on the next possession.
  • Fresno Pacific outscored their guests 12-3 in the extra period to remain unbeaten in PacWest play this season.
