HONOLULU, HAWAI'I. – The Sunbirds continued their trip to the Islands as they traveled to Honolulu to take on the #14 according to the WBCA Coaches poll and 10th in the D2SIDA poll Hawai'I Pacific Sharks. FPU most recently fell to Hawai'I Hilo while HPU just barely edged out Biola on January 2
nd. The Birds were unable to complete their second upset over a ranked opponent this season as Hawaii Pacific continues to be undefeated in PacWest play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sharks got on the board first as they grabbed a six-point lead over the Sunbirds, until
Ashley Cross found
Bayli McClard for two. HPU extended their lead to ten-points as the closed out the first quarter of play.
• HPU continued their momentum into the second quarter as they managed to hold FPU to 10-points and extend their lead to 13.
• Hawai'I Pacific kept their foot down as they extended their lead to 22-points before a three pointer by
Kate McClard put a jolt in the Shark's run. HPU managed to push to a 26-point deficit over FPU despite
Kate McClard scoring four straight points to close out the third quarter.
• The Sharks continued to their momentum throughout the fourth quarter and managed to keep a 20-point lead over the Sunbirds despite being outscored by FPU in the final quarter of play.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• Kate McClard scored a career high of 16-points for the Sunbirds despite the loss. Freshman
Sara Lundqvist scored a career high of 11-points and
Jessica Malazarte added 11 for FPU.
• Bayli McClard pulled down a team high of 10 rebounds while adding seven-points.
• FPU scored 29 of their points off of the bench for a season high.
