FRESNO, CALIF. – The Sunbirds hosted UC San Diego in their home opener on Friday, September 20
th . Unfortunately, the 'Birds were unable to secure the win at home.
""I thought the boys played with a lot of heart tonight. We came in with some personal goals and we achieved most of the goals. We stuck to our game plan and did what we set out to do. UCSD is a great team and last year's conference champs, but i feel we gave them a game. Josh really stepped up in the cage for us, and Fairchild is coming into his own as an offensive threat. In the end though, it was a team effort and the guys are starting to come together. Each game has shown strong improvements. We have our work cut out for us tomorrow, but these guys are up for the challenge."," said head coach
Bryan Suhovy.
