REDLANDS, CALIF. – The Fresno Pacific men's water polo team traveled to the Inland Empire Tournament hosted by Redlands and La Verne. FPU opened up the weekend with nationally ranked UC Santa Barbara and then followed with Redlands.
"Today was tough, we did a lot of good things but just failed to finish and capitalize on them. Our youth is showing, and we have a lot of growing to do but we are moving in the right direction," said head coach
Bryan Suhovy.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UCSB got off to a quick start as they scored seven goals in the first quarter to FPU's two. The Gauchos did not stop there as they scored nine goals before the Birds were able to pick up two of their own. UCSB added nine more goals in the fourth quarter to put the Birds away.
• FPU bounced back in their second game of the day as they scored four goals in the first quarter and added two more in the second to go into halftime with a one goal lead over Redlands. The Bulldogs however responded in the second half and out scored, the Birds seven to four to collect the win.
STATS OF THE GAMES:

William Green scored two of the Birds five goals in their loss to the Gauchos.
Jacob Fairchild added a goal and an assist for the Birds.

Uros Pelemis recorded a hat trick for FPU in their game against Redlands. He also picked up three assists in the game. Zach Zets and Fairchild each added two goals for FPU in the loss.

Joshua Ramage totaled 12 saves and a .500 save percentage against the Bulldogs.
