Toros Score in OT2 to Down Sunbirds in Carson

CARSON, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer gave Cal State Dominguez Hills all it could handle on Friday evening, but a sudden-death goal in the 101st minute proved to be the difference. The Sunbirds have now played two games in three days, while the Toros pick up their first win of the young season.

SCORING:
  • (100:35) Junior forward Madeleine Simones broke through with an unassisted goal for the lone score of the game.
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
  • Each team took 18 shots, but CSUDH put five more on frame (12-7) than their guests.
  • Birgitta Eggertsdottir racked up 11 saves between the posts for the Blue and Orange, while CSUDH counterpart Jessica Neighbors totaled seven in the shutout.    
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Eggertsdottir's 11 saves was the most in a game for a Sunbird keeper since Peyton Shaffer recorded 12 against Concordia on Sept. 19, 2018.
