SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's basketball team saw its' season draw to a close on Thursday evening, falling 85-74 to Point Loma in the quarterfinal round of the PacWest Conference Tournament. Senior
Bree Alvarez led all scorers in her final career game, hitting four threes to tally 24 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Fresno Pacific struggled to find the stroke in the first half, connecting on just 23.7% of its' shots from the floor.
• Ashley Cross opened the third quarter with an and-one to bring the Sunbirds within 10, and
Jessica Malazarte followed with a triple just 90 seconds into the half.
• The best surge for the 'Birds came with 6:05 left in the game, when Alvarez capped a 9-3 run with a three to cut the deficit to four.
• The Sea Lions outscored the Sunbirds 18-11 over the duration of the game, holding on for the win.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• Malazarte and Pisik followed Alvarez in scoring, turning in 18 and 16 respectively.
• Four Sea Lions got into double-figures, highlighted by Sydney Peterson's 19 points.
• PLNU outrebounded FPU 52-40, while both teams forced 12 turnovers.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Alvarez totaled 50 points over her last two games.
• The Sunbirds won 19 games for the first time since the 2006-07 season and appeared in their first-ever PacWest Tournament.
