FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's tennis team remained undefeated on Saturday, defeating Ottawa-Arizona 7-0 at Haak Tennis Complex. The Sunbirds have now swept two of their first three matches of the season and stand at 3-0 on the young season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Alice Di Matteo and
Sanne Brull were once again the first doubles tandem to wrap up their match, doing so with a 6-0 victory for the second time this weekend.
• The duo of
Imane Van Veen and
Gaya Solomon followed suit, giving FPU a 2-0 edge in doubles action.
• In the top doubles slot,
Ioanna Lathouri and
Marina Lex defeated Julia Ortiz and Hana Papaco to finish off the doubles sweep.
• Brull was the first to wrap up her singles match, defeating Jocelyn Torres 6-0, 6-0.

Claudia Iglesias won her first set 6-0, before opponent Stevie Wenzel retired down 5-0 in the second.
• Lathouri then knocked off Michelle Fournier 6-1, 6-0 before Di Matteo defeated Bianca Amaya 6-0, 6-0.
• Lex defeated Ortiz 6-0, 6-0 to give FPU a 6-0 lead, and Solomon finished off Papaco 6-2, 6-4 to complete the sweep.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Lex is ranked 15th in the West Region according to the
ITA's fall rankings.
• FPU has defeated opponents 7-0, 6-1 and 7-0 so far this season, with all three matches coming at home.
