Sunbirds Fall to Nation’s Top Team, Turn Focus to Senior Day

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team fell to top-ranked Azusa Pacific on Saturday night by a final score of 6-1.  
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
  • Final: Azusa Pacific 6, Fresno Pacific 1
  • Records: FPU (6-10-1, 4-5-1 PacWest), APU (16-0-0, 9-0-0 PacWest)
  • All-Time Series: FPU leads 28-27-3
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
  • The Cougars outshot their hosts 25-10, including an 18-5 mark in shots on frame.     
  • Patrick Timmer picked up a career-high 12 saves in the net for the Blue and Orange.    
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Saturday was the second-highest scoring game in series history. The Sunbirds defeated the Cougars 6-2 on the road in 1976.
