FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team opened PacWest Conference action on Saturday night, coming away with a 2-2 tie against Concordia at Ramirez Field. 
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

-    "Every game, we get a little a stronger, and we're starting to build more confidence," head coach Rob Podeyn said. "Tonight's result against one of the best teams in our conference show us we are capable of winning it."  

SCORING:
- (4:20) Concordia struck first with a free kick off the foot of Cienah Reed that led Kara Gilchrist toward the goal.
- (10:19) Tori De Leon got the 'Birds on the board, bending a free kick of her own into the lower right corner of the net.
- (23:35) Reed drew contact in the box that resulted in a penalty kick, and she converted.
- (51:23) De Leon's free kick found Mackenzie Reynolds in the box, and Reynolds' responded with the game's final equalizer. 

STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Concordia outshot Fresno Pacific 19-12, including a 10-7 mark in shots on target.  
- Birgitta Eggertsdottir picked up six saves in the net before giving way to Hannah Hathaway for the final 9:30 of the night. 

BEYOND THE BOX:
- Saturday's game matched FPU's previous season total in goals.
