CLAREMEONT, CALIF. – Fresno Pacific closed out the Convergence Tournament as they took on Cal Lutheran and La Verne. The 'Birds lost their first game but ended the tournament on a high note as they took down La Verne.
INSIDE THE MATCHUPS:
Final: Cal Lutheran 13, Fresno Pacific 11
Records: CLU (4-7), FPU (2-13)
Final: La Verne 9, Fresno 11
Records: ULV (4-9), FPU (3-13)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fresno started out on top by one at the end of the first quarter but heading into halftime would be tied at 5 with Cal Lu. FPU outscored CLU in the third quarter as well but in the fourth quarter the Kingsmen's office erupted scoring six goals and securing the win over the 'Birds.
- The Leopards went into halftime with a one goal lead over the 'Birds. However, FPU managed to out -score La Verne five to two in the second half to secure the win.
STATS OF THE GAMES:
- Jacob Fairchild continues to lead the 'Birds in goals as he had hat trick against the Kingsmen. Curtis Vidinoff also recorded a hat trick in the loss.
- Nathan Olson lead the 'Birds in scoring as he scored a hat trick. Fairchild, Uros Pelemis, Cody Wickman, and Zach Zetz added two goals apiece for the 'Birds to secure the win.
- In goal Josh Ramage collected 13 saved to secure the win.
