Wing Scores First Career Goal in Road Loss to Sharks

WAIPAHU, Hawaii – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team was hit with its' first PacWest Conference loss of the season on Wednesday night, falling 3-1 at the hand of Hawai'i Pacific. 
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

  • (2:15) Kaylee Sumida crossed from the left wing, connecting with Ebony Madrid for the early score.
  • (58:25) The Sunbirds found the equalizer early in the second half, as Tori De Leon found Cori Wing for her first career score.
  • (64:38) Madrid struck again eight minutes later for the goal that held up as the game-winner.
  • (88:06) Madrid stole the ball from her defender and beat the keeper to round out a hat trick.
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
  • The Sharks outshot the Sunbirds 20-6, including a 7-3 mark in shots on target.  
  • Hannah Hathaway recorded four saves over the game's final 72 minutes.  
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Hathaway is tied for sixth in the PacWest in saves with 37.
