AZUSA, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's basketball team couldn't overcome a sluggish defensive performance on Thursday night, as the Sunbirds fell to Azusa Pacific 96-63 in PacWest play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU led 16-15 after the under 12 media timeout in the first half, but a cold streak put the Sunbirds down 46-25 at the intermission.
• APU carried the momentum into the second half and ran away with the win.
 
STATS OF THE GAME:
• Adrian Antunez led the Sunbirds with 16 points, while Elijah Hill and Nate Kendricks added 10 points apiece. Aamondae Coleman finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
• The Sunbirds were held to 39 percent shooting from the floor, while the Cougars countered at 64 percent.
• Will Ferris led APU with 22 points.
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• FPU entered as the top-ranked three-point field goal defense in the PacWest, but APU made 12 threes on the night (season high allowed).
