FRESNO, Calif. – After a strong showing in the West Region Crossover Classic last week, the Fresno Pacific women's basketball team is ready to play in front of the home crowd for the first time this season. The Sunbirds are set to host San Francisco State on Thursday evening at the Special Events Center.

• Behind a 32-point night from sophomore guard
Jessica Malazarte, FPU was able to open the season with an 80-69 victory over Seattle Pacific last Friday.
• Despite a bad night from behind the arc, the Sunbirds were able to get a look at a game-winning shot the following night against Western Washington, but the shot rimmed out to hand FPU its' first loss.

Ashley Cross joined Malazarte on the All-Tournament Team, while the latter was selected as the Player of the Week by the PacWest Conference on Monday afternoon.
• The Blue and Orange have won the turnover battle in each of their first two games, committing just 27 and forcing 46.

• The Gators are led by first year head coach Natasha Smith, who joins the squad after serving as the lead assistant at the University of San Francisco.
• After defeating San Jose State by seven points in an exhibition last Tuesday, SFSU fell in both games of the Gator Invitational last weekend.
• In Sunday's 86-54 loss to 6th-ranked Alaska Anchorage, Isabella Lamonea was the only Gator to get into double-figures.
• San Francisco State has been prone to the turnover through its' first two games' racking up 42 on opening weekend.
