HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Fresno Pacific had plenty of opportunities in the first 90 minutes, but defense prevailed, sending the game to extra time.
• Nearly seven minutes into the sudden death overtime period, the Sunbirds found the back of the net to emerge with their first victory of the season. Â

STATS OF THE GAME:
• FPU outshot their guests 28-10, including a 9-4 mark on frame. The Penguins did not get a shot off after regulation.

Summer Hammond needed just four saves to record her sixth career clean sheet, while Dominican counterpart Alyssa Ramos racked up eight for a new season-high.
• Set pieces were a big part of the Sunbirds offense on Thursday, as the Blue and Orange took five of the game's six corners.
• In the most physical game of the year for either team, the Sunbirds and Penguins totaled 43 fouls for the night.

• Thursday's victory snapped the longest winless streak since
