Three-Game Week on Tap for Volleyball

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific volleyball team will play three PacWest matches this week. FPU wraps up its home slate on Monday before hitting the road for two games up North.

ABOUT THE SUNBIRDS
• FPU currently sits at 10-14 overall and 8-7 in league play. The Sunbirds recently snapped a three-game skid on Friday with a 3-1 win over Academy of Art on Senior Night. Gabriela Macedo led the way for FPU with a double-double of 10 kills and 13 digs.
• The Sunbirds, who sport a 7-3 record at home, sit in a tie for sixth in the league standings with two weeks to play.
• FPU sports one of the best defenses in the league and sits behind only Notre Dame de Namur in digs per set as a team. The Sunbirds scoop up 16.96 digs per set, while the offense is sixth in the league in kills pet set at 11.73.

ABOUT THE SILVERSWORDS
• Chaminade enters Monday's matchup at 11-11 overall and 6-8 in league play. The Silverswords begin their five-game mainland road trip on Monday. CUH dropped its only game last week to Notre Dame de Namur, 3-1.
• The Silverswords rank sixth in the league in hitting percentage at .187, but rank 12th in digs per set at 14.82. Emma Tecklenburg leads the team with a 3.71 kills per set average, which ranks third in the conference. Danielle Wiley facilitates the offense and dishes out 6.59 assists per set.
 
SERIES HISTORY
• The Sunbirds hold a 4-4 all-time mark against the Silverswords. CUH defeated FPU on Sept. 22 in Honolulu behind 18 kills from Claire Zanon, while Malerie Crenshaw added 12 kills for FPU.
 
ABOUT THE PENGUINS
• Dominican currently stands at 9-15 overall and 8-8 in the PacWest. The Penguins have lost three straight, most recently to Biola 3-1 on Saturday.
• The Penguins have struggled offensively on the year, hitting .158 as a team. The defense has produced 15.48 digs per set, which ranks ninth in the league. Aimee Steinwand paces the attack with a 3.08 kill per set average, while Hana Wyles produces 4.39 digs per set.

• HNU is struggling to find any rhythm offensively and is hitting .035 as a team. Summer Williams puts down 1.92 kills per set for the Hawks, while Christina Cobarruvias dishes out 5.69 assists per set.

• FPU holds an 16-0 all-time advantage over HNU. FPU defeated Holy Names 3-0 on Oct. 5 behind 13 kills from Madison Pierce.
