FRESNO, Calif.  – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team won its' third straight match on Thursday, defeating Chaminade 2-1 behind a pair of goals from Fellipe Souza.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Silverswords got on the board first and held off the Sunbird attack to carry a 1-0 lead into the intermission.
• Fresno Pacific got a goal back 19 minutes into the second half before breaking the tie late.
• The Sunbirds allowed their hosts just one more shot before the final horn, but the Silverswords were unable to get a good look at the goal and missed high.  

SCORING:
• (13:25) Makota Shoji handled the pass after Isaiah Kuloloia's lob over the defense, chipping it over the head of FPU keeper Patrick Timmer for the goal.
• (64:16) After a hard foul, Fellipe Souza connected on a penalty kick for the equalizer.
• (86:12) Souza struck again after stealing the ball and pushing a shot into the back of the net.  

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Timmer tallied three saves on the afternoon, while Chaminade's Bernd Buescherhoff recorded five.
• FPU outshot their hosts 13-11, including a mark of 7-4 on frame.
• Each team earned a pair of corner kicks in the match.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds have outshot their opponent 12 times this season, and they are 8-4 in those contests.
• Souza now leads the team in goals and is one of just seven players in the league with at least ten this season. Teammate Anthony Velarde is also on the list.
