FRESNO, Calif.  – After a slow start, the Fresno Pacific men's soccer team found a rhythm on Saturday night, scoring four goals in the second half to defeat Biola at Ramirez Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The two teams went back and forth with defensive holds for the entire first half.
• Fresno Pacific made adjustments after the intermission, and a flurry of scoring opportunities just kept coming for the Blue and Orange.
• All four goals came in the final 45 minutes, helping the Sunbirds emerge with a convincing victory over their longtime rival.
SCORING:

Aaron Peters beat his defender and quickly dumped off to
Pak Hei Chan at the top of the box. Chan won a one-on-one with the Biola keeper for the first score of his career.

Sergio Bermudez shook his defender before his shot caromed off the far post and into the net.
• (69:44) Thanks to some fancy footwork from Peters,
Anthony Velarde was able to take the team lead in goals with a shot to the lower right corner.
• (71:47) Bermudez struck again, following Velarde's lead and firing to the lower left for the game's final score.  Â
STATS OF THE GAME:
• FPU outshot their guests 15-12, including an 8-3 mark in shots on frame.
• Igor Puglia recorded three saves for the Eagles, while FPU counterpart
Patrick Timmer matched him to record his first career clean sheet.
• Biola won the battle of corner kicks by a tally of 6-4.
• The foul count went against FPU on Saturday, as the home team picked up 20 of the game's 27 fouls and eight different Sunbirds were credited with yellow cards.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• Fresno Pacific's last ever game in the NAIA was a 1-0 home loss in the GSAC Tournament in 2011.
• Saturday was FPU's was home victory against Biola since 2008. Â
• Eight different Sunbirds have now found the back of the net this season. Â
