FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's water polo team fell in a tightly contested battle with Concordia, 7-6, on Saturday in Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds came alive in the second period and scored four times to lead 4-3 at the intermission.
• With the score tied 6-6 as the fourth period started, each team attacked but couldn't find the back of the net. The Eagles managed to find the game winner with just under a minute left on a power play. The Sunbirds attempted to even the score, but couldn't get off a shot on the final possession.
STATS OF THE GAME:

Erik Brown led the Sunbirds on offense with two goals and an assist.
• FPU also received goals from
Floyd Siebenaler,
Uros Pelemis,
Richard Szepesi and
Kyle Eoff in the setback.

Joshua Ramage headed the defense with seven saves and a steal in the cage.
• FPU outshot Concordia 35-29 on the afternoon.
• The Eagles received 11 saves in the cage from Alfredo De La Mora.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• The seven goals allowed matched a season low for the 'Birds.
• Saturday was a Pink Out as FPU raised awareness for breast cancer.
