FRESNO, Calif. - Karah Mitchell's double-double of 22 kills and 19 digs powered Fresno Pacific over visiting Point Loma 3-2 on Friday night in PacWest play. Set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 22-25 and 15-10 in favor of the Sunbirds.

FPU snaps a four-game skid and improves to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in league action with the win, while PLNU falls to 3-9 overall and 1-2 in the PacWest.

The Sunbirds opened with wins in the first two sets, but the Sea Lions stormed back to force a decisive fifth set. FPU hit a match high .333 in final set and closed the frame on an 8-4 run to earn the win. The Sunbirds led 12-10 before
Montana Lowe recorded back-to-back kills to set up Mitchell, who put down the game winner in front of the home crowd.

Mitchell's 22 kills were a game-high and matched her career high that was set on Monday against Dominican. Freshman
Hailey Hilvers provided a spark in the middle with 13 kills on .550 hitting, while
Jasmine Phoolka added 12 kills and Lowe finished with eight kills and four blocks.
Bissie DenHartog dished out 56 assists, while
Chelsea Speaks totaled a team-high 23 digs defensively and freshman
Christina Tran added 14 scoops.
