Sunbirds celebrate seniors, fall to Dominican 83-65

Fresno Pacific concluded the 2015-16 season with an 83-65 loss to Dominican on Saturday. It was the final game for three Sunbird seniors: Daeja Gilmer, Taylor Caspers and Jasmine Shedrick.

The Sunbirds (5-21, 3-17 PacWest) were outscored 17-4 in the first quarter and trailed by double digits for the rest of the game. The Penguins improved to 17-10, 13-7 in PacWest play with the win and clinched the #5 seed in the conference tournament.

Caspers had 15 points and 12 rebounds in her final collegiate game to lead FPU. Gilmer added 15 points and eight rebounds while Megan Lee chipped in with 10 points off the bench.

Taylor Donnot led the way for the Penguins with 20 points. The Penguins grabbed 51 team rebounds in the victory.

Shedrick finished her career with 118 blocks, which ranks second in FPU's program history.
