BELMONT, Calif. – Fresno Pacific fell to Notre Dame de Namur 3-1 on Thursday night in PacWest action. Set scores were 25-17, 14-25, 25-19 and 25-15 at Walter Gleason Gymnasium.
 
The Sunbirds drop to 8-11 overall and 6-8 in league action with the loss, while NDNU improves to 7-17 overall and 5-11 in the PacWest.
 
Carley Bock led the Sunbirds with a season-high 13 kills, while 
Hailey Hilvers added 11 kills on .417 hitting and two blocks. 
Jasmine Phoolka delivered nine kills and 10 digs, 
Montana Lowe amassed seven kills and two blocks and 
Gabriela Macedo put down six kills to go along with 16 digs. 
Bissie DenHartog facilitated the offense with 38 assists, while 
Chelsea Speaks led the defense with a team-high 26 digs and added two service aces.
 
FPU was held to .161 hitting as a team, while the Argos countered at a clip of .274. The Sunbirds were out-blocked 7.0 to 4.0.
 
After each team exchanged a set, NDNU hit .361 and .378 in sets three and four, respectively, to win the match. The Sunbirds played well in the second frame, using a 15-5 run to close out the set to win 25-14.
 
Bianca Alvarez caused FPU trouble on the evening, as the junior posted a game-high 24 kills on .368 hitting for NDNU. Riley Mahan added 42 assists.
 
FPU is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 5 against Azusa Pacific at home at 3 p.m.
