Fresno Pacific fell to the PacWest's first-place team, Hawaii Pacific, for the second time in a week, as the Sharks defeated the Sunbirds 96-66 in Fresno on Saturday night.
Keairra White had 18 points to lead the Sunbirds (2-11, 2-6 PacWest) and
Megan Lee added 17.
Morganne Comstock scored 28 points to lead the Sharks (14-2, 9-0 PacWest), who shot 51% from the field and out-rebounded FPU 47-29 in the victory. All five HPU starters finished in double figures.
HPU distanced themselves with a 12-0 run midway through the first half and led 53-31 at the break.
"You have to give credit to Hawaii Pacific, they're a tremendous team and we're not playing our best basketball right now," said head coach
Lindsey Wilson. "The second half was a whole lot better but we have to be able to show up and bring the same energy, effort and execution for the full 40 minutes."
FPU hosts BYU Hawaii next Thursday at 5:30 pm, looking to avenge an earlier season loss to the Seasiders.
