FRESNO, Calif. - St. Katherine battled back to defeat host Fresno Pacific 95-88 in overtime Monday night at the FPU Events Center in non-conference action. The Firebirds used a 7-0 run to open the extra time to earn the win and nailed a last-second three-pointer to force the overtime.

Trevon Clayton led FPU (5-6) in the loss with his fourth double-double of the season with 22 points and 16 rebounds.
Bobby Barnes added 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting and two blocks, while
Roger Paul totaled 17 points and four assists.
Gabe Solarin was the final Sunbird in double-figures with 15 points and four assists.

FPU led by eight with 4:44 remaining in regulation following a Paul three, but SKC responded with a 15-7 run to close out the second half. The Firebirds moved the game into overtime after a set play out of a timeout with two seconds remaining allowed an open three for Dante Miller, who buried the corner trey as the buzzer sounded.Â

The Sunbirds only managed four points in the extra period and shot 2-of-9 compared to SKC's 4-of-5 and 11 points.

St. Katherine (2-12) capitalized on 23 second-chance points and scored 21 points off turnovers. SKC also out-scored FPU in the paint 46-44. LeSean Galbreath's 26 points, six rebounds and five assists led the Firebirds.

FPU travels to Long Beach State to face the Division I 49ers in an exhibition at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3.
