Fresno Pacific went up against a talented Northwest Nazarene team for the second night in a row, shooting just 29% from the field in a 69-39 loss. 
Charde Stevens had 14 points to lead the Sunbirds while 
Breana Buczek added eight.
"I was proud of our team for not giving up today and for playing hard for 40 minutes," said head coach 
Lindsey Wilson. "We have to continue to knock down open shots. We continue to get better each game."
The Sunbirds did force 26 turnovers to limit the damage on the defensive end. Megan Hingston had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Crusaders (3-0).
FPU trailed 33-18 at halftime and would be unable to draw any closer. The Sunbirds trailed by as many as 35, down 58-26 with eight minutes left before outscoring the Crusaders 13-11 the rest of the way.
The Sunbirds fall to 0-5 on the season, with all five losses coming against teams that are either nationally ranked or receiving votes in the NCAA Division II poll. The team is back at home next Saturday as they take on Cal State East Bay at 2:30 pm.
