The Sunbirds fell in their opening match of the National Invitational 14-10 to #21 Concordia in the teams' next to last match of the season.

Dan Wilson led the way for FPU with three goals and both Zlatko Vlasic and Brian Xicotencatl added two in the loss.

The Sunbirds were down 5-1 after the first quarter and 7-2 at the half. But Fresno Pacific was able to outscore the Eagles in the third quarter with four different scores getting in on the action. Wilson, Vlasic, Daniel Seymour and Sascha Ludwig all scored to close the gap to four.

The Sunbirds kept pace with Concordia in the fourth matching the Eagles four goals. Two Dan Wilson scores kept it close, but FPU was able to close the gap.

Goalkeeper Jake Finney recorded 11 saves on the night for Fresno Pacific who dropped to 11-16 on the season.

Fresno Pacific will close out the season against #22 California Baptist tomorrow at 11 am in Riverside.
