In the biggest NAIA Volleyball game of the week, #1 Fresno Pacific takes on #3 Biola in a battle for GSAC supremacy.

Tuesday night will also mark the school's first "Dig Pink" event as the Sunbirds team with the Sideout Foundation in the fight against breast cancer. The Sunbirds will wear pink tonight and all fans are encouraged to do likewise. You can donate to the cause at the link below.

In addition, FPU will be unveiling its 2010 Men's Swimming and Diving National Championship banner in between the second and third sets.

The game itself will feature two of the NAIA's top programs. The Sunbirds currently hold a one-game lead on the Eagles for first-place, with the Eagles' only conference loss coming at the hands of FPU September 14 in La Mirada.

In that match, the Sunbirds were two points away from escaping with a 3-0 sweep, but the Eagles closed the third set on a 7-0 run to extend the match. The Sunbirds would take set four 25-20. Martina Gregusova led FPU with 15 kills and Keke Wang added 13 in that win.

The Eagles have won 11 in a row since then. FPU has won 62 in a row, dating back to 2008.

The Sunbirds get a significant test on Tuesday night as they face one of the GSAC's top defensive teams, the Biola Eagles. FPU has won its last two, defeating Westmont and San Diego Christian, to climb to second place in the conference.

The Eagles just defeated Concordia 2-0, bouncing back from a 2-1 overtime loss at Hope International. Biola is led offensively by Kennedy Chongo and Phillip Friehe, who lead the team with four goals each. Goalie Aaron Fenlason is second in the GSAC, allowing just 0.67 goals per game.

FPU won last year's matchup 2-1 in La Mirada in overtime. Gildardo Villaruel made a huge save in the first overtime to stop an Eagle one-on-one opportunity that allowed FPU to win on a Vitor Machado goal.

The first 100 alumni to check in at the hospitality tent located at the field next to the FPU stands will receive a FREE spirit shaker, popcorn and soda to enjoy during the game.
