FRESNO, CA. - The Sunbird women's basketball team defeated California Baptist 64-53 Saturday afternoon at FPU's Special Events Center. With the win, the Sunbirds improve to 6-15 overall and 3-8 in GSAC play while the Lancers drop to 10-11 overall and are 3-8 in the GSAC.

Junior forward Jessica Torrecillas was on fire for the Sunbirds with a 29-point performance and was solid in the paint as well with eight rebounds.

Senior guard Jessica Mazza also chipped in, shooting in double digits with 11 points on the night.

FPU led 23-21 at the half and shot 46.2% from the field in the second period to help them go on to the 11-point win.
