Water polo falls to Cal Baptist

Sunbirds fight hard, but lose 7-10

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (12-7) had plenty of opportunities to make a move on Cal Baptist, but could not come out on top losing to the Lancers 7-10.

Coach Brian Suhovy explains, “It was a tough lose to CBU but the guys played hard. We are still a young team and much improved from last year and even from the start of the year.  We had our opportunities that we didn't capitalize on.”

Glen Lyon led the Sunbirds with four goals while Nick Fadden had the Sunbirds' remaining three goals.

Riley Warner finished with eight saves.

Coach Suhovy continued, “Even though we lost I am happy with the way we played and confident in the direction we are headed.”

The Sunbirds will need to bounce back quickly for a tough tournament this weekend in Santa Clara.  The Sunbirds will face multiple NCAA DI top-20 teams in their two-day tournament.  Fresno Pacific will begin on Saturday, October 24 against Brown University.
