Lizaola dazzled against perennial West Region powerhouse Chico State on the first road trip of the season, striking out six Wildcats over seven innings while allowing just one earned run. As a junior in 2019, Lizaola pitched into the sixth or deeper in all but two starts, turned in a career-high 12 strikeouts against nationally-ranked Colorado Mesa, and was named as an Academic All-PacWest selection.
